Polokwane is a rural city where most people rise early and work late. This means Polokwane nightlife is never going to set the world alight and visitors should content themselves with a few drinks at dinnertime and concentrate on exploring the glorious South African bush instead. However, Johnny Foreigner has uncovered a few Polokwane pubs where travellers can whet their whistle in comfort. However, most of these double up as restaurants and are not the most atmospheric, so any serious drinkers are advised to take themselves to the Meropa Sun Casino where there are numerous bars, pubs and restaurants all under the same roof.
